Beware Frozen Cables!

Now that the temperature has dropped significantly, remember to check your cables (especially the brakes) before you ride in the morning.
Water ingress into the cable housing is one cause of this as the water freezes and sticks the cable, also road salt getting into the housing causes corrosion and potential sticking cables.
It’s a good idea to check that your cables are lubricated properly, this not only ensures a smooth action for the cables in all weathers but also disperses the water that can cause the sticking as well as preventing corrosion.
The only ways to prevent freezing cables caused by water ingress are to use sealed cables such as the Gore Ride-On series or to keep your bike inside overnight!
